Subsite Layouts

Crafting Consistent and User-Friendly Structures for FAO Subsites

Overview

Subsite layouts are essential for creating consistent and user-friendly structures across FAO's various subsites. This page provides an overview of the available layout options and their components, designed to maintain a cohesive look and feel while accommodating different content needs.

We offer two primary layout structures:

  • 1 Column Layout: Ideal for pages with a single content flow, such as article pages or simple landing pages.
  • 2 Column Layout: Perfect for pages that require a main content area and a sidebar for additional information or navigation.

Each layout includes common elements like a header, subheader with page title, main content area, and footer. These layouts are designed to be responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across various devices and screen sizes.

1 Column

The 1 Column Layout is a versatile and clean design that focuses on presenting content in a single, uninterrupted flow.

This layout promotes a focused reading experience and is particularly effective for mobile devices where screen real estate is limited. It allows for easy scrolling and consumption of content without the need for complex navigation between columns.

2 Columns

The 2 Column Layout offers a balanced structure that accommodates both primary content and supplementary information or navigation.

This layout is particularly useful for content-rich pages where the main content area can be complemented by related information, links, or widgets in the sidebar.

The 2 Column Layout adapts responsively to different screen sizes. On smaller devices, it typically stacks the columns vertically to ensure readability and usability.
