Country flags

Overview

This section of the Design System collects all official flags with the ISO 3166-1 country code, as extracted from an open source library, format .svg (vectorial format): https://flagicons.lipis.dev/.

The Governing Bodies Servicing Division (CSG) is notified by the Legal office and/or Protocol about any Country's official change, such as Country name, the capital city or a new flag and will ensure the DS is updated. More information on Countries is available in the FAO Names Of Countries Database: https://www.fao.org/nocs/en.

Usage

Add CSS class flag-xxx where xxx is the ISO3 code of the country in lowercase letters. (e.g. .ita for Italy)

Small size flag

It is possible to add the class flag-small to reduce the size of the flag

Flags can be used inline with text to provide visual context. Here are examples of using flags with headings and paragraphs:
